Here is some important information you should know, these radios require a FCC License to "TRANSMIT" but you do not need a license to LISTEN! That means you can listen all you want, just don't transmit without a license UNLESS you are in an "emergency situation".
No provision of these rules prevents the use by an amateur station of any means of radiocommunication at its disposal to provide essential communication needs in connection with the immediate safety of human life and immediate protection of property when normal communication systems are not available.

So now, the questions everyone will ask... What is included in the programming?
BY ORDERING (1) CUSTOM PROGRAMMING, THIS COVERS UP TO 10 RADIOS, IN (2) REGIONS /ZIP CODES. (example, Los Angeles & Phoenix)
We wanted to offer everything we can while we have you radios in our hands. This mean if you send us 1,2, 5 or 10 radios, they come at the same flat rate. The programming will include all the "standard" programming PLUS all the local programming as well as individual radio names/greetings!
Simple as that, all in one service to get the most out of the radios. Keep in mind, some major cities and counties have moved to "trunked" or encrypted digital radio channels that Baofeng radios are not able to pick up. If you're not sure if this will affect you, feel free to email us with your zip code and we can check.
"Standard Programming"
-FRS (Family Radio Services) All Channels
-GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) All Channels
-MURS (Multi-Use Radio Services) All Channels
These allows you to communicate with the low powered, off the shelf Cobra/Motorola/Midway handheld radios available at Walmart and most sporting good stores. The problem with those radios is the cost and their low watt power. They are great for the kids and are legal to use on their own. The Baofeng radios allow you to "listen in" and in an emergency, transmit onto those channels.
-NOAA - Weather, keeping you informed in case of emergency. These worked great when CA had it's massive Wildfires. Also, during the yearly Hurricanes, many of the southern states end up with downed power and phone lines causing major issues that last for days/weeks/months at times.
-General Call Channel - This is the "universal" calling frequency/channel used by most amateur radio users and listeners. 146.520. This is a great way to listen to other HAM operators across your region and to call and use in an emergency to reach family or loved ones.
-Local Repeaters - These are used by HAM operators to communicate across longer distances by communicating with a repeater it acts as an amplifier of your original signal and rebroadcasts (repeats) it with a much higher output and distance. These are to be used only with a Technician Class license but perfectly fine to listen to.
-Local EMS (Emergency Medical Services) This includes Fire Department dispatching and so forth. Also, local Law Enforcement channels can be still be scanned in certain cities that have not moved to encrypted digital radios. ***Please research and confirm if this applies in your area.***
For example, in Los Angeles County, there are over 500 listing for all major hospitals, malls, Fairplex, Search and Rescue and so many more and we will list most (Again, there are 500+ so we filter them) and include the most useful in emergencies and keeping an eye on local law enforcement updates as it happens. Feel free to include any specific areas and if they are available, we will include them!
How do we get the radios to Chosen Armory?
AFTER PLACING YOUR ORDER, we need some basic information from you. Simply FILL OUT THE PROGRAMMING FORM using the same email address used on your order. If you rather print it and include it with the radios for privacy, we are all about that as well. Just answer all the questions!
Simply stick your radios (up to 10 at a time - email for more) in a 6x6x6 USPS Priority Mail box and ship them to our store, When you pay for shipping at the end of your order, that will cover the return cost to send back within 2-4 business days after we received them.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be able to verify that local frequencies are 100% active or in use, we use a national registration of repeaters and frequencies that are typically up to date, most traffic on repeaters is heard in the evening/afternoon and are often kept silent to avoid cluttering the waves for emergencies.
